Operator, the phone screen
The business line, answered before your phone makes a sound. Known numbers ring straight through and never hear a thing. Everybody else proves they are a person, says who they are and what they want, and arrives with a one-line summary whispered to you as the call connects. Every call is logged with its transcript and what it actually cost.

What every inbound call walks
Blocking spam callers one at a time never converges, because a dialer spoofs a fresh caller ID every time and every block you place lands on a number that no longer exists. So the default is inverted: an unknown caller has to prove they are a person with a reason before your phone makes a sound.
Allow list
Rings straight through. No greeting, no screen. That silence is the point.
Block list
Busy signal. The call is never answered, so it costs nothing.
Spoken screen
Everyone else presses a named digit. A dialer is playing a recording, not listening to one, so it cannot pass. One retry, because a person can fumble a keypad.
AI intake
Callers who pass are asked for a name, a company, and a reason.
Transfer or message
Transfer with a whispered one-line summary, or a recorded message with its transcription, both filed on the call.

Each call carries what the carrier actually billed for it, read back after the call settles. That is the real figure, not an estimate off a rate table, and it covers the call minutes only.

- CallerMarisol Vega. I have water coming through the ceiling in the back bedroom, it started in the storm last night.
- CanopyUnderstood. Connecting you now.
Nothing auto-blocks. No rule is ever written without your click, because a wrong block silently drops a real client and they get no signal it happened.
If this is switched off, or if anything in it fails, calls forward straight through to your cell unscreened. A broken screen behaves exactly like not having one. It can never eat a call.
